The verdict

There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is playing 9 times at 3 cinemas across 3 districts, from HK$60 to HK$100 depending on cinema and time. The cheapest seat is at B+ cinema apm (Kwun Tong) in Kwun Tong, HK$60. Category IIA · 57 minutes.

What it is about

Fujino is an elementary student publishing 4-panel manga in a student publication. She receives high praise from her classmates until her teacher tells her that truant student, Kyomoto, wants to try her hand at a 4-panel manga. Their love of manga is the one thing connecting these contrary girls. One day, however, something happens to them that shatters everything… A heart-wrenching and impactful story of youth.

What to expect

Kiyotaka Oshiyama and Hirokazu Kore-eda co-direct this compact 57-minute anime about two primary-school girls whose shared obsession with four-panel manga turns a classroom rivalry into an intimate, life-altering friendship. The movie earns its IIA certificate through emotional weight rather than spectacle, sitting closer to a quiet character study than a teen melodrama. From October 8 it screens across 6 cinemas in 6 districts, with 36 showings in the first week and tickets starting at HK$60. Japanese audio with English and Chinese subtitles.
