What it is about

Haruto Mizushima secretly loves writing poetry. One day, his classmate Ayane Toosaka discovers his hidden hobby. Ayane has developmental dyslexia, which makes reading and writing extremely difficult for her, yet she possesses remarkable talent in singing and composing music. At Ayane's request, Haruto begins writing lyrics for her music. As they spend time creating songs together, they gradually develop feelings for each other. Their talents both clash and draw them closer, making them cherish one another even more—this is a love story spanning ten years that will move you to tears.

What to expect

A boy who hides his poetry and a girl with dyslexia who can compose music start writing songs together in high school. Their collaboration turns into a romance that plays out over ten years. Director Takahiro Miki keeps the tone gentle and the tears earned rather than forced. It runs 117 minutes, is rated I, and screens with English and Chinese subtitles. This week there are 11 showings across three cinemas in three districts, with tickets from HK$75. Only standard digital projection is available—no IMAX or 3D—so a smaller, quieter house will suit it best. With just three venues carrying it, advance booking is practical.
