What to expect
The Met’s 2026 Tristan und Isolde is a first in several ways: Yuval Sharon’s directing debut at the house, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin’s first time conducting the score there. Lise Davidsen takes on Isolde, a role that demands immense stamina and control across the five-and-a-half-hour running time; Michael Spyres sings Tristan. The cast also includes Ekaterina Gubanova, Tomasz Konieczny, and Ryan Speedo Green in his first major Met role as King Marke. Sung in German with English and Chinese subtitles. The Hong Kong release on 4 September 2026 will play in select cinemas — check listings for session times and formats.
