What it is about

As an elite runner, Cris constantly chases time on the track. Right before the national championships, a sudden mental breakdown forces her to step away from high-level competition. While chasing speed helps her forget inner demons, stopping takes true courage. Fortunately, her sister Natàlia becomes her shelter as she learns to accept her condition and redefine the pace of her life. Inspired by personal experiences, director Laura García Alonso crafts a poignant feature debut exploring an athlete's inner struggle.

Best First Film, Málaga Film Festival

What to expect

A debut feature that won Best First Movie at Málaga, built around an athlete who hits the wall just before the national championships. The movie stays with her as she steps away from the track and leans on her sister, trading the stopwatch for something harder to measure. The 99-minute runtime is spent on small, quiet scenes rather than training montages, and the audience score of 7.6 from 69 votes suggests it lands with viewers looking for that restraint. It opens in Hong Kong on 30 September 2026, in English with English subtitles. No IMAX or 3D sessions are listed, so it will screen in standard format. The certificate is not yet published — check with the cinema if you need age guidance.
