What it is about

When Bonnie receives a Lilypad tablet as a gift and becomes obsessed, Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs become exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.

Andrew Stanton directs this 103-minute fifth outing, which pits the toys against something more mundane than a villain: a tablet. When Bonnie gets a Lilypad, the gang find themselves competing with a screen for a child's attention. The Cantonese-dubbed print is screening as a pet-friendly session — one cinema, one district, one show this week, so the HKD 190 ticket is as much about the novelty of bringing a well-behaved dog as about the movie itself. Even though there is a pretty clear and potent message here, this isn't my favourite from the franchise - in fact, in many ways it reminded me of what I felt was the much more engaging "Ron's Gone Wrong" (2021). Toy story was one of my favorite childhood movies growing up. As the years have gone by i have watched each one and still get the nostalgia from the first. This is no different .Absolutely amazing movie as it stuck with the roots of toy story but also brought in aspects of how the technology of toys has changed. Highly recommend a watch! Great movie for family movie night or just a solo watch.
