What it is about
At the age of 21, Tim Lake discovers he can travel in time… But as his unusual life progresses, Tim finds out that his unique gift can’t save him from the sorrows and ups and downs that affect all families, everywhere. There are great limits to what time travel can achieve, and it can be dangerous too. About Time is a comedy about love and time travel, which discovers that, in the end, making the most of life may not need time travel at all.
What to expect
Richard Curtis and Alex Lankford co-direct this 124-minute English-language drama that gives Domhnall Gleeson a family secret he can’t really use. The time-travel premise is played for small, everyday regrets rather than spectacle, and the IIA certificate reflects a mildness that keeps the focus on awkward dinners and quiet disappointments. Rachel McAdams and Christina Polge round out the cast, but the movie’s real subject is the gap between what you can change and what you still have to live through. Chinese subtitles are provided. In Hong Kong cinemas from 17 October 2026.
