The verdict
There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is not currently playing in Hong Kong cinemas. 93 minutes.
What it is about
Raanan, a middle aged man, returns home after 30 years abroad. A chance encounter with an elderly man unlocks troubled memories, and a brief affair with a much younger man, send him spiraling through generational rifts, and force him to confront his internalized homophobia and emotional wounds of his past.
What to expect
Raanan has been away thirty years. When he returns to Israel, two encounters undo the distance he has kept: an elderly man who unlocks memories Raanan would rather leave alone, and a much younger lover whose presence makes him face the homophobia he has swallowed since childhood. Yuval Hadadi keeps the drama close and quiet — no big speeches, no tidy resolution, just a man sitting with what he has spent a lifetime avoiding. The movie screens as part of HKLGFF 2026, opening 5 September. 93 minutes, Hebrew with English subtitles, festival venues only. Certificate to be confirmed.
