The verdict

There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is playing 1 time at 1 cinema across 1 district, from HK$100. The cheapest seat is at Broadway Cinematheque in Yau Ma Tei, HK$100. 68 minutes.

What it is about

Madoka writes plays. Kazuma composes music. One day, they decide to go to the cinema. But once there, they realise they can interact through the screen itself, sending fiction into joyful freefall in an absurd and inventive adventure.

What to expect

Makoto Ueda’s Japanese comedy runs 68 minutes and stays inside a single idea: two people in a cinema realise they can mess with the movie they are watching, and the movie messes back. The look is deliberately rough, closer to a theatre piece that wandered into a camera than to a polished feature. It screens once in Hong Kong as part of HKAFF on 6 October 2026. Japanese audio, English subtitles only. No Cantonese or Mandarin dub.
