The verdict
There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is playing 1 time at 1 cinema across 1 district, from HK$95. The cheapest seat is at CINEMATHEQUE in Yau Ma Tei, HK$95. Category IIA · 78 minutes.
What it is about
From the heart of war-torn Ukraine, animals are left behind by those forced to flee. From cats and dogs in bombarded buildings to lions and tigers in empty zoos, extraordinary rescue efforts are underway to bring them to safety. Stories of survival, love, and resilience emerge beyond the battles. Every rescued animal becomes a beam of hope and soothe our broken hearts. In the end, the line between rescuer and rescued begins to blur.
What to expect
Anton Ptushkin’s documentary looks past the front lines to the animals stranded when people flee. Rescue teams enter bombed buildings for cats and dogs, and empty zoos for lions and tigers. The footage is matter-of-fact rather than sentimental, and at 78 minutes the movie does not linger. It carries an IIA certificate, so younger viewers can attend, though the subject is inherently heavy. This week it is playing at a single cinema, one screening a day; tickets start at HK$95. English and Chinese subtitles are on the print.
