The verdict

There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is not currently playing in Hong Kong cinemas. 102 minutes.

What it is about

The Paris police are desperate to bust drug kingpin Roger Massina. To do it, they want pimp Dede Laffont to serve as their inside man (known as la balance in French). Dede refuses: Informants never live very long. But Detective Palouzi isn't taking no for an answer. Sure enough, the police put pressure on Nicole Danet, the prostitute who's also Dede's girlfriend, forcing him to make a decision that could rob him of everything.

What to expect

Bob Swaim’s 102-minute policier keeps its violence mostly off-screen and its loyalties permanently in doubt. Nathalie Baye plays Nicole, a sex worker whose relationship with pimp Dede (Philippe Léotard) becomes leverage when a Paris narcotics squad needs an inside man. The movie earns its tension from small, grubby rooms and the weight of a decision that can’t be undone, rather than from set-pieces. It screens in French with English subtitles as part of FCP 2026, opening in Hong Kong cinemas on 10 October.
