The verdict

There are not yet enough audience votes to give this a reliable score. It is not currently playing in Hong Kong cinemas. Category III · 106 minutes.

What it is about

Ming is disturbed by his sister's new boyfriend, who occupies the extra bed every night. Ming was going to move out, but unexpectedly uncovers a secret. Jenny, a real estate agent, helps him find a new place, only to be targeted by his sister's boyfriend once again. Feeling trapped, Ming wants to become a plastic stool via reincarnation. Meanwhile, Ming's experiences force Jenny to reassess her own thoughts.

What to expect

Ming wants to die and come back as a plastic stool. The wish is not a joke — it is the logical endpoint of a Hong Kong flat-share where his sister’s boyfriend has colonised the spare bed and every attempt to escape, including a flat-hunt led by agent Jenny, only tightens the trap. The movie stays in a register of low-key, matter-of-fact strangeness: the boyfriend’s menace is never theatrical, and the reincarnation fantasy is treated as a practical plan. At 106 minutes the pacing is patient, and the Category III certificate reflects sustained unease rather than shock. This 1000-Day Anniversary Special Screening is a limited event; the movie plays in Cantonese with English and Chinese subtitles.
