What to expect
Co-directed by Joe Ma Wai-Ho and Soi Cheang, this 2004 comedy pairs Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi in a time-travel farce built around a car that can jump back to 15 August. The humour is broad and physical — pratfalls, mistaken identity, the rapid-fire Cantonese banter both leads were known for at the time. It is a product of its era, and the bc30 x APAAA programme slot makes sense as a chance to see two directors who would later take very different paths sharing a credit.
