What to expect
Christopher Nolan’s first feature, shot on 16mm black-and-white for pocket change, runs a tight 71 minutes. A bored writer tails strangers on London streets, latches onto a burglar named Cobb, and gets pulled into break-ins that feel more like curated invasions of privacy than theft. The structure jumps between three timelines, so you spend the runtime reassembling what you have already seen — the movie rewards attention but never feels like homework. It is playing at two Emperor Cinemas next week, with only two screenings listed. English dialogue, Chinese subtitles. IIB. Tickets from HK$150.
