What it is about
What to expect
Patrick Leung Pak-Kin sets his coming-of-age story around the real 1980s Wah Fu Estate UFO sighting, but the movie spends its 122 minutes on the three young leads rather than on the mystery itself. Chui Tien-You, Wong Yau-Nam and Charlene Choi carry a warm, unhurried drama that uses the unexplained event as a shared memory rather than a plot engine. The tone is reflective and local, anchored in Aberdeen rather than in genre thrills. At IIA, it is accessible to older children with a parent. As of its opening week, it is playing at a single Hong Kong venue with one screening in the next seven days; the cheapest ticket is HK$90. Cantonese audio, English and Chinese subtitles.

What viewers said
There is maybe more of the metaphorical UFO here than any real one, but it serves as quite a useful conduit for the stories of the lives of three childhood friends. It's "Kin", "Hoy-Yi" and "Heem" who are on the roof of the hospital amidst an almost biblical thunderstorm when they see something emerge from the clouds that continues to inspire them for the rest of heir lives.
