What it is about

What to expect
Mama Yeung has a husband who won’t listen and a son who won’t cooperate, so she slips out to a pole-dance studio — her one corner of the world that isn’t about keeping house. Catherine Chau plays the lead with a brittle, nervy energy that makes you feel every fib she tells her family. The movie stays close to her perspective, so when the secret inevitably cracks open, the fallout lands in the kitchen, not on a stage. Elaine Jin and Peter Chan Charm-Man round out the household, and the 95-minute runtime keeps the domestic tension tight.
