What it is about
In a summer villa, a couple married for twenty years invite an enigmatic young woman. Desire, jealousy and things left unsaid give way to a dangerous game in which each plays a part. Their children, watching from afar, grow uneasy: who is playing with whom? Is their mother in danger?
Q/A with the co-screenwriter Alma Brami, author of the original novel "Qui ne dit mot consent" on 25 NOVEMBER at MOViE MOViE Pacific Place.
What to expect
A French drama that runs a tight 90 minutes, A Dangerous Game keeps its focus on three people in one villa. Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi and Vincent Perez play a couple whose twenty-year marriage is tested when they invite a younger woman (Zahia Dehar) to stay. Director Karine Silla stages the unravelling as a quiet, talk-heavy standoff — the children watch from the edges, and the tension comes from what the adults refuse to say. Adapted from Alma Brami’s novel, the movie is playing with English subtitles. A Q&A with Brami follows the 25 November screening at MOViE MOViE Pacific Place.
