劇情簡介

黑澤明將莎士比亞名劇《馬克白》整個日本化，被譽為改編莎劇電影中最成功的一部傑作，除了充分發揮原劇的強烈戲劇矛盾和人性刻劃之外，濃霧森林的場景更成功地起著一種迷宮般的象徵作用，令三船敏郎飾演的鷲津（即馬克白）置身其間感到茫然不知所以。山田五十鈴飾演的淺茅（即馬克白夫人）則吸收了日本“能劇”的表演方式，而城主被殺的城堡佈置得也像古色古香的“能劇”舞台，使本片在視覺效果上展示出迷人的民族特色。同樣是黑澤明執導的古裝動作片，本片的收斂與《七武士》的豪放堪稱是兩個極端。
