劇情簡介

本片奪得 36 屆奧斯卡最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳男主角、最佳美術、最佳服裝、最佳音效等八項大獎，喬治庫克（George Cukor）導演，奧黛麗赫本（Audrey Hepburn）、雷克斯哈里遜（Rex Harrison）主演。賣花女伊莉莎長得眉清目秀，但出身寒微，她每天必須到街上賣花，貼補家用。閒暇時她總喜歡哼哼唱唱，一天伊莉莎甜美的嗓音引起了語言學家希金斯教授的注意，教授誇口只要經過他的訓練，賣花女也具有上流社會的氣息。伊莉莎認為這是很好的機會，就請教授培訓她。教授朋友皮克林因此和教授打賭，如果伊莉莎以名媛淑女形象出席 6 月份的大使遊園會而不被人識破真相，皮克林願意負擔伊莉莎一切的訓練費用。自視甚高的希金斯接受了挑戰，他從最基本的字母發音開始教起，教授伊莉莎儀態、禮節…。後來有一次，希金斯帶伊莉莎去參加母親的家宴, 年輕的爵士弗雷迪被伊莉莎的美貌和談吐自深深吸引著，一點也看不出她就是曾在雨中向他叫賣花朵的姑娘。希金斯已經 40 多歲未婚，他總沒有看得上的姑娘，漸漸地生活上竟然離不開伊莉莎了，他的衣服飲食和生活起居完全依賴伊莉莎照料。然而使伊莉莎氣憤的是希金斯粗暴的脾氣。他教她文雅的禮儀，卻從不用文雅的態度對待她。 6 月份終於來臨，希金斯滿懷信心地和伊莉莎、皮克林一起出席希臘大使的招待會。伊莉莎是以皮克林上校的養女身份參加這次的宴會，她全力以赴，在現場談笑自若，巧笑倩兮。當她出現在大家面前，人們停止了交談，欣賞她令人傾倒的儀態。她的待人接物圓熟又恰到好處，希金斯學生尼波姆克使出看家本領和伊莉莎周旋，被伊莉莎弄得暈頭轉向…. . 結果證明希金斯成功了。回到家後，疲憊不堪的希金斯向伊莉莎大聲嘟嚷，伊莉莎自尊心受到了傷害，委屈之下，離開了希金斯的家。她在門口遇到了痴情的弗雷迪－他每天晚上都到伊莉莎窗下徘徊，默默地注視伊莉莎，伊莉莎終於被他的痴心感動。雖然希金斯暴躁不堪，卻真心喜歡伊莉莎，在伊莉莎出走後感到十分苦惱，他得知伊莉莎已和弗雷迪在一起後，內心很痛苦，但仍然要幫助伊莉莎開一家花店。伊莉莎雖然已學會上流社會的儀態和談吐，但還是想回到原來的生活圈，但她希望擁有自己的生活，而不是留在上流社會虛情假意、矯揉作態。
